I'm looking forward to seeing you all at conferences on October 16 and October 18 here at HGECC. Don't forget about Trunk or Treat on October 25. We finally got some clear weather and we sure enjoyed being outdoors! Our afternoon class practices "Stop. Drop, and Roll" as part of Fire Prevention Week.
Some of our art work!
You should have received a sign up sheet for parent conferences on Tuesday, October 16th and Thursday, October, 18th. I look forward to meeting with you here at school and sharing your child's progress. Don't Forget Trunk or Treat Tuesday, October 25th starting at 5:30. It's almost fall, can you believe it? We have been working hard...getting back into the routine of school, meeting new friends, and having new adventures. Please let Miss Lisa, Miss Jennifer or me know if you have any questions or need anything. We can be reached at 816.316.5479 and [email protected] We are enjoying your children! The morning class is making bubble mountains. The afternoon class poses in front of our bulletin board.
We've planted flowers in the garden outside of our classroom and have enjoyed watching them grow. As we end the school year, we thank you for the opportunity to watch your little ones grow. Have a safe and fun summer!
Miss Ava, Miss Jennifer and I get to see lots of pretend play in our class. Here, the AM class is having a camp out. The girls in the PM enjoy their princess clothes.
Spring keeps changing its mind! We are ready for cleaning out our garden spot in the courtyard and planting.
This week we enjoyed Leslie and Jay, jugglers who kept us entertained with letters, numbers, color, and shape tricks. We are practicing for our Spring Sing in May. Make plans to join us on May 8th at 5:45. Welcome Spring! While we have been waiting for Spring we have enjoyed some activities indoors. We read fairy tales about the 3 Little Pigs and then we huffed and puffed and made beautiful paintings by blowing through a straw. Our class read about the Little Red Hen who could not get her friends to help her. But when we made corn bread everyone wanted to help! And you won't believe it but a Leprechaun visited our classroom, made a mess, and left everyone a coin from his pot of gold that tasted very much like chocolate.
Happy Spring Break to you all! This month we have studied bears, learning what they eat, their behavior in winter, and how they teach their cubs. We also had fun conducting an experiment with gummy bears. We predicted what might happen if gummy bears were placed in water, orange juice, vinegar and salt water. We discovered that water makes the bears expand. The other liquids make the bears expand to a lesser extent and all the liquids made the bears sticky! We hope to see you at Messy Night. Come and enjoy some wacky activities as well as the Book Fair!
To complete our study of winter, we were able to bring some snow inside and make a snowman. We noticed it melted fast in our warm classroom!
We are looking forward to warmer days when we can get outside and get fresh air. Please join us on Tuesday, February 27 for Messy Night. |
